Why hire one crew for the dirt work and the concrete?

A concrete job at a home starts well before the truck arrives. The ground has to be dug out, graded so water moves away from the house, and built up with a compacted base. Hellard Concrete does that work with its own equipment, including a dozer, a skid steer, an excavator and dump trucks, so the same crew that prepares the site also sets the forms and pours the slab. For homeowners in Lexington, Richmond, Berea, Mount Vernon and nearby, that means fewer people to coordinate and one crew that knows how the base was built when it is time to place the concrete. It works the same way for a driveway, a patio, a garage floor or a set of footers. The excavation, grading, base, pour and finish stay with one crew, and the site is cleaned up when the work is done.

Questions

Residential concrete questions

What residential concrete work does Hellard Concrete do?

We pour driveways, sidewalks, patios, stamped concrete, house foundations, basements and footers, garage floors and pole barn floors. We also install septic systems and build retaining walls. If your project is not on that list, describe it in a quote request and we will tell you whether it fits.

What areas do you serve for residential projects?

Hellard Concrete is based in Mount Vernon, KY and serves homeowners in Lexington, Richmond, Berea and Mount Vernon, plus nearby parts of Central and Southeastern Kentucky such as London, Corbin, Jackson County and Pulaski County. If you are outside those areas, send your address with a quote request.

Do you handle the digging and the base, or just the concrete?

We do both. Our crew runs its own dozer, skid steer, excavator and dump trucks, so the excavation, grading and base are done by the same people who set the forms and pour the concrete. You do not need to hire a separate excavator for a driveway, patio or slab.

Can you do stamped or decorative concrete at my house?

Yes. We have poured stamped concrete patios and steps for homeowners. Stamped work is a good fit for a patio or a set of porch steps. Tell us what you have in mind when you request a quote, and we will talk through the options at the site visit.

How do I get a quote for a residential project?

Select Get a Quote and tell us what you want built and where, or call the number on this page. A site visit and measurements come next, so we can look at the ground and the layout before the work is planned. Photos of the area help when you first reach out.
